Slow Down To Speed Up – What?? Many of my clients want to have greater impact in their exectuive leadership roles, and it’s not achieved by working harder. Here’s the leadership neuroscience behind the idea of Slow Down To Speed Up … for greater impact:

 

The mind has two ways of operating – (a) moving things forward, and (b) focusing on deeper meaning and motivation. Rarely can the two modes of thinking happen at the same time.  When these modes of thinking are not kept in balance, we tend to lose the ‘why’ of it all (eg. frustration, anger, burnout etc). 

In today’s 24/7 connected age we find ourselves stuck in one mode – moving things forward.  Journaling, mindfulness, reflection, meditation, breathing exercises are some ways of finding balance, by focusing on deeper meaning and purpose. So, what do YOU do to Slow Down?
